 A COMMUNITY OF DISCIPLES:
MEMBERSHIP

Christ Church Parish Church welcomes you into our parish life and extends an invitation to active membership within the body of Christ.

If you wish to become a member of Christ Church, or you are presently a member of Christ Church, but have not completed a Membership & Ministry Update Form (see below), then please take a moment to consider these three steps:

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body,

though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12

1. COMPLETE

COMPLETE a Membership & Ministry Update Form with basic information such as your name and current contact information. This will allow for church notices and updates to be easily sent to you via mail, email, or WhatsApp. There is also a section of the form that identifies parish ministries, where God may be leading you to use your spiritual gifts. You may tick more than one ministry. Some ministries will call for a process of discernment (Is this what God wants me to do?) and training sessions (to equip the saints for the work of ministry Ephesians 4: 12).

2. COMMIT

COMMIT to the worship, work, and witness of the parish. People are often hesitant about seriously committing themselves to God or making a promise to do his work, yet this is precisely what God expects of us. We grow as disciples of Jesus as we daily consecrate our lives to Christ – it is the only way.  When we break those promises and humbly re-commit ourselves to Christ, we grow through the power of God’s forgiveness – “seventy times seven”.  The important thing is not that we fall but that we get back up each time and continue the journey.  So don’t be afraid to commit yourself to God and the work he is doing through his church.

3. CONTRIBUTE

CONTRIBUTE to the ‘funds of the church’ that is, subscribe to the parish with your financial offerings. Please be generous with your contributions. Most members choose to give through our stewardship envelope system and/or through covenants. There is also the online option of giving via internet banking. For more information about stewardship envelopes, covenants, and online giving please contact the church office at 428-8087 or e-mail us at office@christchurchpc.com.

ELECTOR STATUS

"A communicant member of the church who is not less than eighteen years of age and subscribes to the funds of the church shall be entitled to be an Elector in the church wherein the member regularly worships."
