DATA PRIVACY & SECURITY

Overview

Welcome to the website of Christ Church Parish Church (hereinafter referred to as “the Church”) We thank you for your interest and your support. As a visitor to our website, we undertake to treat your data with the utmost sensitivity and privacy and in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of the Laws of Barbados. Information will only be shared should it be required under the Laws of Barbados.  Your confidence in our data collection and privacy is important, so kindly take a moment to review the following information.

Collection of Information

The Church may receive, collect and store information that you enter on our website or with which you provide us in any other way. It will be necessary at times that you provide us with personally identifiable information while online, based on the task being completed via the website – for example, personal information to complete financial transactions (making donations, offerings), to register as a member of the Church, to register to attend or purchase tickets for events hosted by the Church, or to create a personal or member profile on our website.

Your personal information will be used only for the purposes it was provided. All information received via the Church’s website will remain confidential and will not be shared with any third parties unless required under the Laws of Barbados.

Communicating with Site Members and Visitors

We may contact you to send notices and updates of the Church’s work, ministry and events, to invite you to become a member of the Church, to invite submission of prayer requests, or to invite any comments or feedback. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, or mobile app messages.

Security

Our Church’s website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. This platform hosts part of our online presence and allows us to provide information to members and visitors, to collect member information (new member registration), and to facilitate e-commerce or online merchant services to support the work of the Church. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. Wix.com stores your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

Our website’s e-commerce system incorporates the Fygaro payment platform. All transactions and credit card information on Fygaro checkout pages are protected with industry standard security, including encryption and secure sockets layer (SSL) technology. SSL encryption protects sensitive data transmissions from your computer to our website. When SSL encryption is active, it is denoted either by the “padlock” icon at the bottom of your browser’s window, a green “padlock” in the address bar, or by a blue line around the window. On certain website pages, password protection may be used as a security measure to protect your privacy.

The Fygaro platform is also compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) for payment processing, as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
